I have spent over ten years providing a carp fishing tutorial service. In that time I have worked with a huge number of anglers. These have ranged from intimate one-to-one sessions through to pairs, small groups and even the armed forces with groups as large as 30 people!
During this process I have refined how to clearly communicate educational information and my wide and varied clients have gone on to great things in their angling, many of whom I am still in touch with.
Although I am now winding down this side of my business, Carp Academy is designed to be an online tutorial service and so these wide ranging testimonials are a valid endorsement of the service I offer whether it is face to face or via our new media platform.
I have been carp fishing since the 80’s however I needed to learn more modern technics and decided upon a tutorial and contacted Adam.
A 24hr session was arranged and it was the best thing I have ever done, I learnt so much more than I had hoped for and then some.
Having not fished for years I decided to get some tuition and having watched a few anglers, I was drawn to Adam for his sheer enthusiasm and passion for the sport. His extensive knowledge, attention to detail and his tireless work ethic ensured I got the most from the session and the service was second to none. After a couple of tutorials both here and in France I can now boast a French best of over 67lbs and a UK best of 42lbs both of which I would not have achieved without his help. A gentleman and a good friend.
I had a tutorial with Adam because I felt I needed to improve various areas of my carp angling. We had a full day together and during that time I learned so much. No stone was left unturned during that day – I had so many questions and Adam happily obliged. The skills obtained from that day have changed how I fish and have definitely resulted in more captures. Great angler and great guy – highly recommended!
Adam has an uncanny knack of cutting through the modern day science of carp fishing to break it down into basic principles in an easy to understand way. Whether new to carp fishing or in need of fine tuning, you can’t fail but to learn from him.
Wanting to improve my fishing and watching lots of video content, I decided to have a tutorial with Adam as I felt he was the one to change my fishing for the better – I wasn’t wrong! On meeting Adam, I could see his extensive knowledge and attention to detail meant I was in the right hands. No matter the weather or the scenario, he is always full of enthusiasm and works relentlessly at his fishing. The result of our time together was a transformation of my angling. After sessions in the UK and abroad, I caught fish to 64lbs under his instruction and I have since gone forward with the mindset and tools to catch many more fish up to 67lbs. He’s a top man, a true gent, a good friend a right good laugh too!
Before my tuition with Adam I jokingly said to my wife: ‘It’s going to be like getting taught to take free kicks by David Beckham!’
Having spent the day with him and seeing his approach to all things carp angling, I would honestly put him in the same bracket! In my opinion he’s one of the most knowledgeable anglers out there and he readily shares all that with you throughout the day. Couple that with the genuine interest he takes in you as well, and I can only say good things about Adam! I felt totally at ease over the whole day and he’s a really friendly guy – exactly like the man you see on the screen! I learned so much over the session and I have since used it with great success in my angling.
My tutorial session started a week before we were due out when Adam called me up to find out exactly what I wanted to get out of it. This meant that on the day, he was straight in with a really well thought out session that hit all the aspects I wanted help with. It has really helped me hone my skills and most importantly, enjoy my fishing even more!
Even as a carp angler of over 30 years, I couldn’t fail to learn from Adam’s observational skills and attention to detail. As well as being spent in good company, the tuition was highly informative and I’d strongly recommend for an angler of any experience.
I was feeling low on confidence and after booking a tutorial with Adam I came away full of enthusiasm after learning new things that I hadn’t even considered as well as confirming some things I was doing as being ok! I picked up so many tips I had to make notes on my phone. Since then I’ve gone on to catch 40s from 3 different waters so I can honestly say a day with Adam is priceless.
I booked a session with Adam when my confidence was at rock bottom. As a relatively new carp angler I wanted to have a session with a tutor who would listen to me, watch me and personalise their teaching based on that. I certainly didn’t want to basically sit and watch a pro catch fish!
The session was exactly what I needed. I left with renewed confidence and all the essentials to approach waters knowing that my technique would now not be the reason for any blanks. Since then I have had an amazing time and banked 3 different forty pounders!
